Good Morning Beth,
I hope this message reaches you. Recently I had the opportunity to use the State Stat Information as it applies to DJS, I am extremely impressed with your work. I have been the PBS Coordinator for over a year, additionally I audit and monitor statistical data for the internal monitoring of Incident Reports, Injuries, Restraints, Population Count and Control, etc. for the Hickey School. I always knew you were extraordinary, but this collective data and how it is used for not only our State, but apparently through-out 20 states in the country for different purposes and outcomes of information. I can only thank you and suggest that you are making our lives easier by setting the bar so high. I am looking forward to the election and know our Governor O'Malley will be successful in his efforts. Senator Klausemeier and I were talking about both of you yesterday at CHHJS. I personally have never been happier with a Governor then I am at this time, he has had to make many difficult decisions and has taken us to a better place. Kudos to both of you ! Thanks for all of the hard and intensive work that comes from Maryland State Government !

I wonder if anyone looked at their methodology. How did it differ from others? Maybe CEA should look at that or maybe they don't care about credibility. Could they explain the differences? Instead of doing their own should they go with the range of others and offer their own commentary. Or should we all accept this as the best we can expect in what is a very political area, especially right now?

Of course, I am still wrapping my head arond the concept of jobs saved.

I am not surprised the stimulus provided a benefit. If CBO says so I believe it. The amount of new debt bothered me but I am reconciled to the fact that you have to do it this way.

What bothers me and perhaps many others is this. So much of what was funded was not stimulus - it is being spent as the economy recovers and on many dubious things. I await a report on what we got for our money.

Helping states and some of those things were likely needed, but there is a fallacy in the measurements. They measure what occurred, not what could or should have occurred. If we learn nothing this time maybe it will be how best to structure a stimulus to produce the best result.

This is an intriguing issue. As a very high user of healthcare (having a malignant brain tumor and surviving eleven years will do that to you), I have seen firsthand a lot of issues with my medical records and care. I have been fortunate that most of my care for this and other issues has been at one institution. I can only imagine how things would have been had it involved multiple entities and care providers.

It would be interesting to see something like a set of Frequently Asked Questions to inform citizens and allow them to interact on this issue. If this issue is anything like health care reform, we know it will be easy to get sidetracked by misperceptions, bad information and emotion.

I, for one, would welcome something that also supports outcome-based treatment so I could have more informed discussions with doctors about alternatives and risks.
